CONSERVE WATER

Watch these men do their part in helping the environment by going around shirtless. One less shirt to wash means more water saved... Enjoy.

Meet the Contenders: 12) Richard Armitage

Full name: Richard Crispin Armitage
Birthdate: August 22, 1971
Height: 6' 2"
Has not yet appeared in GQ (but it's only a matter of time...)

You may know him as: “that really hot guy” from basically every BBC series in the last several years, including John Thornton from North and South and Guy of Gisborne from Robin Hood.

Richard Armitage may be the least familiar name on this list, but take heed: That is a grave injustice which you must remedy right now with a comprehensive Google Image search. Even by the extremely high standards of Actors from the British Isles (seriously, what is going on there?), Richard Armitage is a major standout. Let’s begin a petition right now to import him to the States.

It's time...

Ladies (and any gentlemen who happen to stumble upon this blog),

Welcome to GQMF Tournament 2010.

What is a GQMF, you ask? For the answer, let’s turn to
UrbanDictionary.com, that mecca of Internet WTF-ery:

GQMF: An acronym for “GQ mother f*cker,” referring to actors that are physically attractive enough to grace the cover of GQ magazine.

For those of you who are new to tournaments, sixteen beautiful men have been selected to be combatants in the tournament, and are seeded from 1-16 in terms of relative attractiveness. (Since attractiveness is subjective, I had to use my own judgment, which is—duh—obvious when you see I’ve seeded Chris Pine as #1. The rest are somewhat random.) Generally, top seeded competitors are put against lower-seeded competitors. It’s not safe to assume that the higher ranked player can win—there’s always room for an upset!

Here’s where you come in. It’s time to get together for drinks to duke it out and fight for whomever we think should win each match. Our main arguments should be based solely on attractiveness, but we can also argue the merits of charm, talent, ::cough:: assumed sexual prowess ::cough:: and, of course, accents. The winners of each match move on to the semifinals. And we’ll meet again to come up with the outcomes of the semifinals, moving on to the quarterfinals, then finals.

Drinks are set for Friday, April 2 at 5PM sharp. But don’t wait until then, ladies—place your bets and mark your favorites.

Let the GQMF games begin!
